Victims' Resource Center

Shelter Assistant (full-time)

Job Description:

The YWCA Bradford seeks to hire a 2nd shift (Sunday through Wednesday), 32-hour full-time Shelter Advocate in the Victims' Resource Center (VRC). The VRC Shelter Advocate works primarily with domestic violence survivors who participate in the Rapid Rehousing Program by assisting them in monthly case management and budgeting meetings. This role also functions as a supportive Counselor and Advocate for survivors who reside in the emergency domestic violence shelter, providing comprehensive and holistic services to enable them to address their abuse related concerns. The Shelter Advocate responds to hotline requests for services while working and while on-call. Additionally, they will provide support, information, and advocacy as necessary to ensure domestic violence and sexual assault program participants’ needs are met.

High school diploma, or equivalent, plus two years of experience working in a social services position or volunteer experience with a domestic violence/sexual assault program required. Associates degree preferred. Current valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to vehicle with current registration, inspection, insurance, and available at all times during working and on-call hours.

Job Type:  Full-time 32-hour work week

Pay:  $15-$17/hr
