The following positions are currently available at YWCA Bradford:

Victims' Resource Center

Legal Advocate/Counselor (full-time)
This position:
  • Provides survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with information, assistance, and accompaniment to legal appointments and court hearings
  • Facilitates client and program linkages with law enforcement and criminal justice systems
  • Provides daily support, information, counseling, and advocacy to domestic violence and/or sexual assault survivors requesting program services.
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, or human services required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including a minimum of two years spent working or volunteering with a domestic violence/sexual assault program. Experience working with diverse populations is desired.

Shelter Advocate (full-time, second shift - 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Sunday to Thursday)

The VRC Shelter advocate works primarily in the domestic violence emergency shelter, providing survivors of domestic violence with comprehensive, individualized, holistic services to enable them to address their abuse-related issues. Responds to hotline requests for services while working and while on-call. Provides support, information, and advocacy as necessary to ensure domestic violence and sexual assault program participants' needs are met. 

High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of experience working in a social services position or volunteer experience with a domestic violence/sexual assault program preferred. Associated degree preferred. Current valid driver's license. Hotline rotation.

Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Program

Specialists to support individuals with mental illness and/or disabilities (full-time)

Experience is preferred but not required. This position assists and educates individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or a developmental disability to empower independent living. Basic computer skills are necessary. Ability to organize and manage multiple work tasks efficiently and adapt readily to frequent change, as well as communicate effectively with a diverse array of people. People skills are a must.
