Swig & Swine

Things may not be the same in 2020, but what’s better than live entertainment, good eats and spirits?  What about, all of this from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you choose, surrounded by your family and friends?

The YWCA Bradford is going virtual with our 3rd annual Swig & Swine, our signature event.  Join us on July 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. on our Facebook event page, while Second Act performs live.

Our organization serves individuals throughout McKean County, but it is difficult to find a centralized location and concept for an event that would draw people from the entire County. The fact there’s virtually no barrier to attendance, other than internet access, means the invitation list is endless. Those who could not otherwise be away from their family, afford to travel, or have health and mobility concerns, can now attend.  We are hoping  people from all over our service area and beyond will join us for some live entertainment and to learn more about the YWCA.

Barring any technical difficulties, our virtual Swig & Swine will begin at 4:00 p.m. and go through 6:00 p.m.on Saturday.  The entire event will take place on the Swig & Swine event page https://www.facebook.com/events/253839082266581/?active_tab=about, which can be found on the YWCA Bradford Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/YWCABradford/.

We want people to be able to join us safely from wherever they are enjoying their Saturday, so all they need to do is login to Facebook and join the Facebook Live event.  It’s simple, but if people aren’t sure how it works, follow us on Facebook and you will find links to attend our virtual event on Saturday.

Lisa, Jim and John from Second Act will be providing musical entertainment during the majority of the event, with periodic breaks for information related to the YWCA.  There will be random trivia questions and items added to our scavenger hunt list during the stoppage of music.  We have some great prizes to give away, including YETI drink-ware, Zippos, gift certificates and a BOSE blue-tooth speaker to the overall winner of the scavenger hunt.

Piggy Party Packs

We wanted to incorporate a fun way to allow our attendees to host their own Swig & Swine parties from wherever they may be joining us. The piggy party packs include everything you need, except the food and beverages, to host your remote Swig & Swine party while tuning into the virtual event for some great musical entertainment.

  • For $10, each piggy party pack receives 2 stainless steel Swig & Swine cups, 1 pig nose, paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils and fun piggy bibs for everyone. The family packs have extras for the children, while the adult version includes a Swig & Swine koozie and has cocktails in mind.
  • Additional items are available through the à la carte menu. Check out the unique pig ear headbands!
  • Piggy party packs can be picked up at our drive-thru tailgate party at the Bradford Club, 32 Boylston Street, Bradford, PA, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18th. Arrangements can be made to pick up the Swig & Swine supplies beforehand by contacting us at marketing@ywcabradford.org or calling the YWCA at (814) 368-4235.

The YWCA Board members and volunteers will be set up in the front parking lot of the Bradford Club from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday to hand out the piggy party packs.  This will allow people to remain in their vehicles as our volunteers fetch their party supplies for them.  There will also be a drive-thru cornhole toss for those purchasing piggy party packs.  Our beloved friend, Swiggy (the pig) will be on hand for some added fun.  As long as the weather cooperates, Swiggy plans to play with us all afternoon, but he worries about roasting when the temperature begins to rise.
